CLARENCE-ROCKLAND — January 15, 2019 – One year after the signing of the twinning agreement between the City of Clarence-Rockland and the Municipality of Boeun in South Korea, the Honourable Sang Hyuck Jung, Mayor of Boeun, was once again visiting our municipality. He was accompanied by Mr. Lee Dong-Ok, Consul General of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, for his meeting with City representatives.
In addition to a luncheon where cultural and agricultural topics were discussed, members of the delegation visited the Clarence-Rockland Gallery located at the Recreation and Cultural Complex, where a collection of photographs on loan from the Korean Cultural Center in Ottawa is exhibited until the end of January. The exhibit also includes beautiful Korean items from the personal collection of Nicole Chénier, a resident of the municipality.
The delegation also included approximately 15 students from Boeun who spent the day at St. Francis Xavier Catholic High School in Hammond. They were introduced to Inuit games and participated in music as well as cooking classes.
