Français Proposed expansion of the urban area The process is temporarily suspended ROCKLAND – May 4th 2012 – The City of Clarence-Rockland has decided to temporarily suspend the process associated with the proposed expansion of the urban area The purpose of this exercise is to meet the requirements of the Ontario Ministry of Municipal Affairs regarding the urban boundaries of Rockland and of the villages in the City of Clarence-Rockland, as needed for future residential development. "The purpose of the temporary halt is to clarify the confusion that currently seems to exist in regards to the implication that the decision will have on the growth of the City of Clarence-Rockland," said Pierre Tessier, Chief Administrative Officer of the municipality. In the coming weeks, the administration will prepare a report for council that will identify a new consultation process which should simplify the decision making. The City will let the public know when the process will resume.
